I love
having people i love in my apartment. With seven visitors staying in my tiny apartment i’m going to have a great next few days.
24. The Tales Of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling
It was ok for what it was (pretty much a promotion of all of her other books) But some of the fables are cute. And i love the harry potter so i’ll over look the fact that she mentions that you should reference her other works about 50 times.
And it’s cool to read the fable in it’s entirety that is an important part of the last book. But it’s nothing i’ll reread...
23. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
I still don’t know how i feel about this book and i finished it almost a week ago. It was really good, but a real challenge to read a book where you’re conflicted about the main character. I’m so conflicted about it i’m having a hard time coming up with anything to write here. You’re reading this book through the eyes of someone that wants to molest a little girl....
Best Christmas gift ever.
After presents had been opened we sat milling around my grandparent’s house. i noticed that there were a bunch of old books on their book shelves (it’s possible these have always been there). i was looking through them and i found an old copy of The Fountainhead. On the inside it was inscribed to Sally Biehl (before my grandparents were even married) 1943 and her address from when...

The Troubles of A Book by Laura Riding
The trouble of a book is first to be No thoughts to nobody, Then to lie as long unwritten As it will lie unread, Then to build word for word an author And occupy his head Until the head declares vacancy To make full publication Of running empty. The trouble of a book is secondly To keep awake and ready And listening like an inkeeper, Wishing, not wishing for a guest, Torn between hope of no rest...

I think that Akira is just a Chicago chain of stores, but those of you that know of it and for those of you that don’t, they finally have an on-line store! Tread with caution. While they have some things that can be hideous, some of my favorite (and cheapest) dresses have come from here.
ENJOY!
Today's Conclusions
bryonmcdonald:
If a girl likes you, she’ll want to spend time with you. Simple as that. She will make time for you. I don’t know why I lose sight of this sometimes. I am done chasing girls that are so elusive and wishy-washy.
Christmas is a good time to forgive, or to at least move forward. I don’t really know why it’s easier, maybe it’s just because I can shrug it off and say, “hey, it’s...

Todd is going to be on NPR’s All Things Considered tonight at 4:50pm Midwest time talking about the tour. He did the interview from the van while it was stuck in the snow in the Iowa highway! Tune in and check it out!
i know i’ll be listening. Mostly because todd is a funny funny man. i’m gonna go ahead and translate ” 4:50 midwest time” to “4:50...

rubinrecommends put frequent crashers of our couches and floors, Mason Proper, on his best of 2008 Albums. (Which made my morning.) Well diserved, i must say. Buy it here if you haven’t already.
My computer came!
Cruelly, it came while i was running out the door to a photo shoot. Will have to wait to even take it out of the box!
Jenny. Seriously?
– My roommate coming home and finding me watching The Family Stone for the up-teenth time.
Finally.
The Family Stone is on On Demand. i have been looking through the free movies section, specifically for this movie, for weeks. i can’t even say it’s a guilty pleasure. i think it’s actually a good movie. i would like to think that it has nothing to do with being a female, but i hesitate before saying it.
22. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by...
This book is so good. i don’t really know what to say about it.
i love when things that you thought you knew change, or are altered, with additional information. That happens in many unexpected ways. In many ways this is book is full of unexpected, genious writing. i found myself thinking, “Oh well it made sense before but this information chages how i feel about that situation,...

fate
fiftywords:
He’d made a mistake, but no one would ever tell him how big it was, letting him think fate had decided things. Instead of guilt and remorse, he felt a deep sense of destiny. The stars glared at his disobedient soul and he took it for the glow of approval.
At a time like this I owe myself a few luxuries. So I’m simply buying the...
