4. Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the...
This was one of those books I’d heard of forever (turns out this book came out when i was in college, but you know).  Steven and Stephen explain that what the experts are telling us is not only mostly false but usually very far from the truth.  And the truth can be very unexpected.  A very funny, very quick read full of trivia tidbits about the world around you.  Also includes a great deal...

3. On Photography by Susan Sontag
This is a compiled book of essays about photography written by Susan Sontag.  Many of them were required reading when i was in school so i decided to just read the whole thing, looking for inspiration to start taking more pictures.  The book itself was pretty good and very interesting.  It is certainly written towards photographers, there wasn’t a lot of explaining or background when it came...

2. Ways of Seeing by John Berger
A really short collection of essays (i think) about how things that we see can change the way that we see other things.  examples being paintings and advertising, etc affecting how we see the real world.  An interesting read, but he’s talking about big ideas very breifly.  Each chapter could have been it’s own book.  I found most interesting the chapter on how men perceive women and...

Expectation: $100
Yesterday was my first day working for the man.  It was also my last day.  Last night i tried to call at a time i felt no one would be in the office to leave a polite message that went something like this, “I’m really sorry that i won’t be coming in tomorrow.  I don’t feel this job is a good fit for either of us.  Thanks for the opportunity and i wish you all the best of...

1.5 Eff Galapagos
I really tried, but Kurt and I aren’t a good fit right now.  I couldn’t sit down and make myself read it for over a week, so back on the book shelf if goes with a pretty amazing picture of myself, which i may post shortly.  so i’ve moved on.  And i have decided that maybe i don’t read quite as frequently as necessary to keep a blog on just that.
