How my stomach is like a baby when i have the flu.
Normally my stomach and i communicate really well, but when i have the flu things are really off.  It’s like a baby.  It only has one way to communicate, it cries.  When i have the flu, no matter what the problem, there is just a general hurting.  No variation what so ever.   I mean what’s going on?  are you hungry?  are you full?  are you about to throw up?  i have no idea.  Just let...

My phone thinks it is a Rubik's Cube
For a while the screen has been half broken on my cell phone.  Half the time it is just a white box.  I have to turn it off, take out the battery, battery back in, phone back on.  That was annoying, but i accepted that this was a new trait of my phone and we still got along pretty well.   Now my phone only works when it is plugged in which makes for a crude landline masquerading as a cell phone....

27. The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
I really botched my first experience of this book by misinterpreting the genders of a few of the characters.  So a couple of chapters into it when i realized my mistake i was a little confused for the rest of the book.  However, my brief inability to interpret context clues, far from ruined this experience. A great book.  As mentioned here, it is similar in some ways to Extremely Loud and...

26. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
My copy of this book is one of my most valued possessions.  If my apartment were on fire i would grab my hard drives, my jewelry boxes, and this book.  Everything else is insured so can be replaced, or re-purchased at the gap.   This book is filled with my racing heart, the margins are covered with my thoughts on life and work, love and desire.  Reading my journal couldn’t be more personal...

Commence operation gain 15 pounds
Somehow between being sick and really broke (and therefore eating a little bit less than my usual many meals a day) I have lost more than 10 pounds.   Now someone who is 22 should probably not weigh under 100lbs.  I found out when i went to the doctor this morning that i currently weigh 94lbs.  Not good.   Since i’m trying to get back to at least the weight i was before i figured i might...

Gist of a Really Good Story I Heard at Work Today
A girl has a dog.  She lives in New York City.  Her dog is really old and dies in his sleep in her apartment.  She doesn’t know what to do with the dead dog (she doesn’t have a yard or anything) so she puts it in a suitcase to take to the vet.  She is on the subway and someone asks her what’s in the suitcase.  She says it’s just a stereo, she’s helping a friend move....
