On Scarlett O'Hara
The first time I read Gone With the Wind was in 5th or 6th grade, and I’ve read it approximately 5 times since.  She is perhaps my favorite character to read.  I always enjoy hanging out with her for 1,000 pages.  I guess a character has to be extremely interesting to keep you entertained for that long a volume.  It’s not like War and Peace where there are 50 different characters...
